welcome disana, maker of wool outerwear

John Box August 28, 2019

New for 2019, we are proud to announce that we are carrying our very first outside brand: disana, a fellow maker of timeless merino wool children’s wear.

Based in Germany, diasna believes:

Fashion Is Not Loud!

We have set ourselves the goal to produce favorite pieces. Everlasting fashion, classic, basic and convenient for everyday. Clothing that brings joy to both children and parents. Clothing that emphasizes our children’s natural beauty and underlines it with timeless and clear cuts.

. . . .

Nature

Let’s go to the forest and to the meadow. Play, romp around and run. disana children’s fashion is made for outdoor-life. The child-oriented cuts support the children’s urge to move. For a happy playing in the countryside.

Like disana, we also believe in making children’s wear that is true, beautiful, and good. We are drawn to timeless pieces that outlast the seasons, that evoke beautiful simplicity, that encourage parents and their kids to get outside and explore.

In our own collection, we focus on base layers like our thermal long johns that can double as a technical next-to-skin layer and a super cozy pajama. Parents often ask us: can you recommend outerwear wool jackets to go over your long johns?

And our answer is always disana’s warm and cozy collection of boiled wool jackets and overalls — a favorite of our own kids! With a Chasing Windmills base layer, hoodie or sweater, and disana outwear, our kids are ready to get outside and play on a brisk fall or winter day.

So, we are proud to now offer two styles expertly crafted in Germany by our friends at disana:

  1. For the little littles: Boiled Wool Overalls (sizes 6-12 months & 12-24 months) in Grey and Anthracite

  2. For the bigger littles: Boiled Wool Jackets (sizes 2-3 & 4-5) in Gold, Grey, and Anthracite

What is “boiled” wool you might ask? It’s a non-chemical process in which water, heat, and friction break up and then felt the merino wool fibers together. The result is a soft and dense wool layer containing countless tiny air bubbles trapped within the fabric itself that insulate the wearer against hot and cold temperature swings. Water-resistant and breathable, the boiled wool outer layer keeps your kiddo cozy and warm while being flexible and comfortable.

We are confident you’ll love disana’s outwear as much as we do; that they’ll be among the hand-me-downs and keep-forevers and bringer-of-good-memories.

Welcome disana.

EXPLORE . DREAM. DISCOVER

This is our place to connect. To share our love for merino wool. To explore the adventures of childhood. To celebrate the joys of parenthood.

This is our place to thank you. You have invited us into your home. We are forever grateful.

This is our journey, together.

SEE WHAT WE'RE UP TO...

Thankful for all the children. They are our light shiners, our joy makers, our hope deliverers. Always showing us how to spread kindness, love deeply, and make beauty in this world together. May we learn from their innocence, and carry their wisdom w
A closer look at our new merino wool long johns - we’ll have 4 new ribbed solids coming your way August 22! Say hello to the newest color mulberry, and super soft as ever. Will make the transition from summer that much comfier 😊
Tip for the novice family of campers- always do a trial test/set up of your gear before you’re out in the wild. This way you’ll avoid puncturing a giant hole in your tent roof 🤦‍♀️ and your kids will only be crying because of mama&rs
I’ll admit I was a bit cranky when I woke up for our shoot (and as the photographer, crankiness is not the best state to be in!). Letting little things bother me and consume my thoughts. But little by little as this shoot started to come togeth
